Our camp is located centrally in Weligama, a vibrant fishing village on the south coast, known for its rich culture, street food, fish markets, and new bars and beach clubs along its large bay. Centrally located among the region’s surfing hotspots, it’s easy to reach Madiha, Ahangama, and the famous Doctor’s House in Polhena, with Weligama offering a range of cafés, bars, and restaurants. Close to beautiful surfing beaches like Jungle Beach and Turtle Beach, where magical sunsets await, our camp offers a secure, luxurious haven.

What does a normal surf day look like?

07:00: Dawn Patrol Session (varies by forecast)
07:30 – 10:00: Breakfast or packed for Dawn Patrol Sessions
09:00: Surf Lessons or Surf Guiding / Interning (varies per forecast)
12:00: Lunch Break
13:00: Guided Surf Session
17:30: Yoga Session
18:00: Happy Hour
19:00: Dinner
20:00: Movie Night with free popcorn
22:00: Bar closed, music off — time to party in town!

What surfing level should I have?

Q: Do I need prior surfing experience to join the surf camp?

A: Not at all! Our surf camp welcomes participants of all skill levels, including beginners. Whether you’ve never touched a surfboard before or are just starting out, we’re here to help you learn and enjoy the thrill of surfing. Our L1 and L2 surf lessons are specifically tailored for beginners, providing a solid foundation to get you started.

Q: What about intermediate and advanced surfers? Do you have something for us?

A: Absolutely! We offer tailored experiences for L3 intermediate and L4 advanced surfers. Our special surf guiding sessions take you on an adventure along the south coast, exploring surf spots from Galle to Hirikitya. We provide dedicated sessions for these skill levels to ensure you have the best experience possible. We are the only surf camp that offers Tuk Tuk guiding as well as surf guiding with our Jeep.

Q: Can you tell me more about the surf guiding sessions?

A: Our surf guiding sessions are led by experienced guides who know the island’s best surf spots. You’ll explore a variety of breaks, from hidden gems to well-known destinations. Our guides will share local knowledge, help you navigate the waves, and provide valuable tips to enhance your skills. Whether you’re an intermediate or advanced surfer, our sessions are designed to take your surfing to the next level.

HOW TO GET HERE

Arrival airport:

Colombo Airport (CMB)

CAR/ VAN:

2,5 hr drive from airport to our accommodation.

We can organise taxi pick up and drop off:

Drop off = £54

TRAIN:

Weligama can also be reached by train from Colombo, which is the most affordable option. The journey takes about 4+ hours, and tickets can be booked online.

Very nice experience! The staff is friendly, the superior room was spotless, and the food was fantastic. Daily yoga classes were great, and the surf lessons are tailored to all skill levels with dedicated instructors. Highly recommend this place – it’s the complete package. I’ll definitely return!

Huge thanks to Christian and Karen for organizing the perfect surf trip! From start to finish, they were incredible – helping with all the details, giving us loads of tips, and sharing inside knowledge on the best surf spots.
